I recently posted on my insta story(@glacierpw.) on whether I should make a blog post on how to get the “shop the look widget” without going through shop-style or other referral systems, p.s. this post may be a tad bit longer because I wanted to make it detailed as possible also include pictures to show the process step by step, so grab a cup of tea and [su_animate type=”bounce” delay=”1″ inline=”yes”]learn with me![/su_animate].
Download: The first step is getting the plugin, you can get that by downloading the plugin, search for it at the plugin platform and this is the particular one I got, it is also free!
Activate: Make sure to activate the plugins
Now onto getting the pictures, download pictures from any website or your gallery, then go to the media in your WordPress dashboard, I will not advice going straight to a new post and using the media on that post platform, so it’s better to go to the dashboard media and import your pictures there, here you can scale it, edit or even crop the pictures.
EDIT: Next you want to click on the image which WordPress will bring out a panel that looks like the one below in image 6
Change Details: Changing details will be the next step, these are all the edits I used, it is important to change or add all these details because I tried it without changing detail which the result was not good, so to avoid that check all the images to know the details I add or changed. In your panel, keep scrolling down to see all the other options.
SCALE: Now click on edit image and scale the image, it is important to scale or else the picture quality will decrease when published because it enlarged the pixels more than normal (I think).
Inserting into a blog post: The next step is to use the plugin in a blog post, the image below shows insert short code, this is the option you will pick and it will pop up image 11.
Instructions: The only option I have used so far the carousel, you can play around with the plug in functions; I tweaked some options under carousel which are shown below, the change in image 14 is really important because the option links to the website of your choice and not to the image link in word press library.
The Final Step: There are two options at the final stage, Live preview; to check for mistakes while short-code is to insert into the post which will insert codes and not actual pictures (The published copy will show images). I hope this tutorial helps. Disclaimer; I am new to all these too, so if there are any other options or easy way to get the widget, please let me know in the comments down below or my DM (@glacierpw). Thank you and please don’t forget to subscribe.
