However, who would have thought 20 years after watching my parents put on an Aso Ofi with my dad in his cap and mom with her bag; I will be reliving those memories through the greatest model of all time Naomi Campbell!.

Been a lover of quirky style, I admired the outfit but my mind was plotting how to get the look at a less cost. As such, this is why I will be outlining down below how to get the look for less all from your parent’s wardrobe.

In addition, I will mention other trends that can be gotten from your parents’ wardrobe. Not only does it saves money but also preserves your parents’ memories.

Get the Naomi Campbell look for free starting with the FILA

FILA: It is commonly pronounced FILA in Yoruba NOT the South Korean brand though (LOL). Dad has this in different cuts and shapes which had no use to me until I styled it here.

Naomi Campbell used the simple shape Fila but with great designs. How great that the phrase, “simplicity” is reaffirmed in her outfit!

AGADA: Noami Campbell look also features an agbada which is a common fixture in a Nigerian male wardrobe. But Naomi Campbell said not anymore, she is wearing an agbada made from an aso ofi if I assume correctly.

Get Naomi Campbell look from the numerous agbada in your parents’ wardrobe. Try to tailor it to your length and size, then rock it to your next casual or fashion event.

In addition, other things I think you can get from your parents’ wardrobe are;

Aso ofi: Aso ofi used to be for brides but even the bridal game has changed to stoned beautiful aso efi.

Aso ofi are now been used to make jackets, belts, and sandals which I LOVE!. Styling a wrap dress with an aso ofi belt to give the illusion of a cinched waist. And paired with a vans trainers will be #outfitgoals (if you will try this look, let me know down below)

Straw/bamboo: The recent surge of straw made accessories is interesting because that used to be a storage bag in my household. Now, it is FASHION.

No need to spend 30£ on a Zara straw bag when you can get from your Parents wardrobe. Parents keep all type of things in the storeroom, so just ask and I believe you will get one.

I think our parents’ era is playing a big role in the fashion of nowadays. There is often that dejavu feeling; seeing some style, collection, and fashion which I don’t know whether it is a good thing or bad. What do you think? Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
